Choosing a vehicle to convert.
Biting the bullet, admitting you can’t do without attempting to build an EV. Thats where I am.
I’m looking into a couple of options that appeal to me.
What’s your favorite EV?
For me the coolest DIY conversion would be John “Plasma Boy” Wayland’s White Zombie drag car. That’s probably a pretty obvious favorite, can any of you tell me about what you think ?
Range Anxiety ?
Many of us who love EV’s will debate at length the chicken and the egg situation. What is more important, getting EV’s out, or the charging infrastructure ?
Not more power, less weight.
“Adding lightness” The founder of Lotus, Colin Chapman, once said that about designing race cars, and it’s just as relevant when it comes to designing EVs. The lighter vehicle just performs better. This is supremely valuable information we’d like to cover in detail.
Whats holding you back ?
Cost of components, suitability of available doners, lack of complete knoweledge, available local equipment and/or help are some of the contributing factors to why some of us are unable to tackle a conversion at the present time.
